37.5 hours per week

£11.33 per hour

Capel Grange is Linc Care's first purpose built community nursing home in Newport. We opened in 2009 and provide high quality person centered care. Situated next to one of our Extra Care Schemes, this home provides nursing care for 72 people with a variety of care and physical needs including dementia and end of life care.

All of our bedrooms are spacious and en-suite designed around the people who live in the home. There are five separate communities each with their own lounge and dining areas. On the ground floor there is a lounge and dining area leading to a conservatory and access to the enclosed landscaped garden.

Operating in the not-for-profit sector, Linc returns all profit into the organisation for the good of the services and the people it supports. With this ethos is mind, Linc Nursing homes operate a full MDT approach to care delivery, which includes the provision of a professional in-house physiotherapy service which is available to all of our nursing home residents.

The post holder will work within relevant legal and ethical frameworks and in accordance with organisational protocols and policies.

The Physio Technician will be proficient, knowledgeable and competent, with experience of operating in a physio role with an elderly patient group, either within a hospital or care home setting, or within the community. They will develop in their role through the acquisition of further skills, knowledge and competences, to be determined by the needs of client, the service and the team.

Duties to include:

•Implement therapeutic intervention to a designated caseload :

E.g.

a. Therapeutic exercises

b. Participation in treatment activity

c. Dealing with distressing/sensitive issues

•To ensure clients and carers are an integral part of their treatment planning and goal setting.

•To be responsible for issuing of standard equipment, whilst demonstrating an awareness of local cost implications.

•To ensure that up to date written and electronic records, reports and activity data are maintained in accordance with professional and Linc standards.

•To adhere to national and local manual handling guidelines.

•To support the work of the registered practitioners in the team.

•To prepare client for and assist with clinical/therapeutic activities or treatments.
