A superb career opportunity for a Senior Physicist (or Electronics Engineer ? ) with excellent understanding of LIDAR technologies has been created at the research arm of a global electronics R&D organisation based in Oxfordshire. Using their knowledge of LIDAR Technologies the Physicist / Engineer will join as Senior Researcher and will lead the research identifying new technologies, techniques and systems for laser remote sensing / Lidar. This is an exceptional opportunity to influence how this global leader will dominate the LIDAR marketplace and the subsequent technologies they develop.
The autonomous and semiautonomous vehicle sector is set to boom. The sector brings with it stringent safety regulations fuelling the need for automotive LIDAR systems for aspects such as obstacle avoidance and adaptive cruise control. Due to the essential nature of this technology, the Lidar sensor automotive market is predicted to be the largest automotive technology growth market reaching in excess of $735 million by 2025. It is the intention that this company will be a market leader within the field by 2025.
Working closely with the Research Group Leader, the Senior Researcher / Physicist will undertake novel research to define the future direction of the company's development activities. This will be highly analytical research, including developing modelling tools for sensor system level performance, simulation and analysis; scouting for -and proposing, new technologies for future sensors and related systems.

To be considered for the role of Senior Researcher - LIDAR TECHNOLOGIES:
- A 2.1 MPhys or MEng degree in Physics / Electronics or other related subject
- At least three years' experience in working with silicon array sensor systems research.
- Experience in LIDAR Sensing modes
- Ideally, experience as an inventor in patenting and IP protection.
