From a technical and regulatory viewpoint, our client is an Independent Financial Advisor, however, they operate in an entirely different way to traditional financial advice firms as they don’t focus solely on selling financial products. Through their unrivaled Plan Happy life coaching service, they help people plan their retirement, so they can enjoy an ideal lifestyle free from worry.

They like to recruit from outside the Financial Services Industry so that their people aren’t ingrained with the 'normal’ way of offering financial products, as they do things so differently here.

Instead, they focus on people who bring skills and experience to be successful in the role, they can teach the financial knowledge required.

Essential technical skills:

• Proficient in PHP and confident writing testable PHP 7 code.

• Use of a modern PHP framework such as Laravel, Lumen, Slim or Symfony.

• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL and relational database concepts.

• Understanding of JavaScript and accustomed to current ES6/ES2015 approaches.

• Adept CSS skills with a responsive first mentality.

• Familiar with Git version control and experience of using GitHub or GitLab.

Advantageous to have experience with any of the following tools/services/concepts/frameworks:

• PHPUnit

• jQuery, Vue.js or React

• Responsive first

• Sass, LESS or Stylus

• Vagrant or Docker

• AWS

• Heroku
