I’m working on a fantastic new opportunity for an eCommerce company based in East Yorkshire. If you’re looking to work with modern technologies in an informal, lively and agile environment then this could well be of interest!
This company is accessible via public transport links, and is easily commutable from Hull, York, Doncaster and Selby.
You’ll be joining an enthusiastic team of 13 other developers, who regularly collaborate and share knowledge and skills on a variety of development tasks. They are hoping to expand this team to 18 members ready to take on the huge projects they are currently lining up.
The company is looking to re-write, re-brand and modernise all existing systems, applications as well as the main eCommerce website. That includes all payment gateways, warehouse systems, customer website updates, new integrations with various third parties such as marketplaces and payment providers - and that’s just a few of the upcoming projects! The team are looking to migrate all old legacy code to PHP 7.2, there’s a lot to cover, and many valuable experiences and skills to learn along the way.
Required skills include:
- PHP, MySQL
- HTML5, CSS3
- API Integration
This company’s framework of choice is Zend, and so any experience with this technology or other MVCs will be very beneficial.
What differentiates this opportunity from many others is the chance to work with a mentor who can help you to expand your skill set, until you are regarded as a very senior developer in the team. There are regular code reviews and pair programming schemes in place to help aid your progress.
You will have exposure to all departments in the company, you won’t just be restricted to IT - there will be projects where you will get to work with teams including marketing, B2B as well as occasionally working with some of the directors!
It’s a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skill set, whilst working on some very high priority and exciting projects.
NOTE - they are recruiting for multiple PHP developers at the moment, considering CVs of anyone with over 1 years’ experience in the industry. So even if you’re skills aren’t quite at the mark, please get in touch as there are other vacancies you will be qualified for.
