Our client have over 35 years’ experience of publishing print and digital media within a variety of areas. They are now looking to recruit an ambitious, self-motivated account manager to join their team on a permanent full time basis in Colchester.
The purpose of the Account Manager is to:
To secure the sale of advertising space within a given title, to contribute towards hitting set financial targets. To fulfil all administrative duties pertaining to the position. To oversee the production and proofing of all copy for the advertisements they have sold each issue.

Key Responsibilities:
• Advertising executives are expected to ensure all companies that are relevant to editorial subject matter are contacted and made aware of the features available
• Each executive will be responsible for ‘growing’ and maintaining their sector of the alphabet split
• Expected to go through competitor publications each month and contact any new leads within their split
• Be responsible abreast of any changes within their marketplace.
• Ensuring space is filled by the deadline and all importantly where possible targets are met.
• Administration for booking confirmations, booking onto the log sheets, updating files, copy production and any other duties that are seen as relevant and reasonable
• To attend exhibitions relevant to their magazine.
• On occasion for the executive to meet with clients face to face either at exhibitions or other locations
• Any other ad-hoc duties requested by management.
Due to the expectation of having to attend exhibitions. This in some cases will require staying away from home this will be at the expense of the company

Requirements of the position:
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written – most importantly an impeccable telephone manner.
• Experience of selling over the phone or face-to-face.
• A good knowledge of/passion for food
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to keep paperwork in order and perform basic administrative duties
• Good organisational skills and ability to co-ordinate several tasks at once.
• Good customer service skills and the ability to be a team player.

Key features of this role:
• Type: Permanent
• Hours: Full time (Monday – Friday, 9.00 – 5.30)
• Basic Salary: £17,000 - £21,000 + commission (dependent on age and experience)
• OTE Salary: £23,000 - £27,000
• Reporting to: Advertising Manager
• Probation period: 6 months:
• Location : Colchester
• Free onsite car parking
