What does the role of Pharmacy Technician entail?
Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, as a Pharmacy Technician you’ll be responsible for providing an exemplary specialist technical service that supports the Pharmacy Department and other areas of the hospital that stock medicines. You’ll be responsible for assisting in not only the delivery of pharmaceutical care but also in assessing people’s health and wellbeing within the context of their medicines. You’ll manage and move medicines where required, and constantly contribute to quality improvement and the safe and effective use of medicines.
What do I need in order to be considered for this Pharmacy Technician role?
- Proven experience of working in a pharmaceutical department, with demonstrable experience of administrative duties i.e. data checking and charging
- Qualified in Pharmaceutical Sciences to B Tech, City & Guilds or NVQ level 3, or equivalent
- Competent in a range of pharmaceutical activities, including stock control, charging and labelling
- Possess the mandatory training requirements for the role including infection control and health and safety
- Excellent numeracy and data entry skills, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Fantastic interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and autonomously

Salary: £20,000 to £22,000 per annum, level dependent on experience and qualifications

Contract Type: Permanent
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working 7.5 hour shifts on a rota between 8am and 8pm. Flexibility will be needed to work occasional Saturdays.
Location: Didsbury, Manchester. Superb transport links with trains, buses and the Metrolink, whilst conveniently located near to the M56 and M60.
