The post-holder will be based in our Quality Assurance/Aseptic department and will have particular responsibility for the training of Support Workers and Trainee Pharmacy Technicians in this area and undertaking Environmental Monitoring within the pharmacy and other areas of the hospital.
The successful candidate will have evidence of pharmacy experience and will have completed in-house training in all areas of a pharmacy department including, Dispensary, Distribution, Ward top-up, Aseptic services, the Combined Assessment Unit and Pharmacy Stores.
Previous Pharmacy experience is essential but full training will be provided, along with the opportunity to attain the SVQ level 2 Pharmacy services qualification.
This post carries a contractual commitment to work on a shift system (which includes a commitment to cover 7 days including weekend and evening). Post-holder will also be required to participate in our Public holiday rotas.
Applicants should possess the following:
- SVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services or equivalent or transferrable (or achieve this qualification within two years from commencement)
- Previous pharmacy experience
- Good communication skills (oral and written)
- Good customer care skills
- Moderate arithmetic skill
