The Lister Hospital, Stevenage is looking for a high calibre pharmacist to join our expanding team as a specialist pharmacist in palliative care. The successful post holder will split their time across the main Lister Hospital site and two local palliative care centres – Isabel Hospice (Welwyn Garden City) and Garden House Hospice Care (Letchworth Garden City). This role is the perfect fit for an individual who thrives in a challenging and complex area of healthcare which is continually adapting to meet the needs of patients.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside several multidisciplinary teams to develop, deliver and enhance the clinical pharmacy palliative care service across three key areas. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, innovative and resourceful, whilst possessing thorough clinical pharmacy knowledge. You will play a crucial role in optimising individualised drug therapies to support patients who are nearing the end of their life. Knowing your input can have a positive impact on both patients and relatives alike are a real selling point for this post.

Being driven and adaptable are essential characteristics for this role as there is a unique opportunity to work across traditional care boundaries to implement innovate integrated care pathways within the local ICS. Networking with local and national palliative care organisations is actively encouraged.

It is desirable for candidates to be qualified as a non-medical prescriber, however this is not essential. The successful candidate will be supported to develop their all-round professional, clinical and leadership skills. Having a UK driving license and access to a car is essential for the role.
