Job Description:

The role of a Pest Control Technician is to identify, control and eliminate pests such as rodents, insects and birds. To achieve this, Technicians use a range of methods, equipment and chemicals and provide advice to clients on preventative methods and suitable methods of control.

Ideal candidate will be a qualified in RSPH level 2, experience is preferred but not required.

*Be smartly dressed and wear uniform (provided) at all times during working hours;
*Work in a safe manner in accordance with the health and safety training received;
*Be professional at all times when dealing with clients;
*Take shared responsibility in the up keep of the stores;
*Maintain the Company vehicle and work equipment in good, clean, working order;
*Communicate clearly with clients providing up to date information on our products and services;
*Provide routine service calls to our client base
*Manage the routine calls within your area and ensure a minimum of 90% state of service at all times
*Manage your area efficiently and ensure you work effectively in order to keep running costs to a minimum
*Provide on site service additions or jobs as and when required
*Take on call outs wherever required when practicable and work with other pest control colleagues to ensure call outs are responded to within reasonable timescales
*Provide informative reports to customers on each visit detailing the findings of the visit, the programme of treatments, pesticides used and any recommendations given.
*General administrative duties as part of your role, i.e. filing, photocopying, data entry, word processing
*Competently use mobile phone, the Company's electronic reporting system or any other software provided
*Tidy stock room as and when required
*Ensure the required reports are submitted to the office at least weekly and ensure your PDA is docked minimum of once per week
*Ensure all jobs sold are phoned through to the office immediately and paperwork submitted within reasonable timescales
Key Performance Indicators for the Job:
To meet objectives set during appraisals by the Pest Control Management team
The candidate must have the following:
*RSPH level 2 qualification
*A good standard of written English
*Possess excellent verbal communication skills
*Be hardworking and trustworthy
*Possess good organisational and prioritisation skills and can manage their own workload
*Be computer literate with excellent experience of Word, Excel, Internet and Email. Must be good at working with live databases.
*Be good at problem solving
*Be able to work independently or as part of a team
*Attention to detail
*Good selling skills and a confident telephone manner
*A full, clean driving licence
*A clear DBS check (formerly CRB)
*Able to be flexible in their working hours due to the service nature of pest control
*A positive 'can do' attitude
*Physically fit
*Can cope with unpleasant sights / smells
