Personal Injury Trust Financial Planning Assistant

NJR Recruitment are working with a firm of financial planners who specialise in providing holistic independent advice to those who have suffered life changing injuries. The role of the financial planning assistant will be to deliver administrative support to the financial advisers, clients, introducers and responds to request from supporting functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare application forms and other documents needed for first and second meetings with new clients
  • Process new business including liaising with clients and providers to ensure accurate information is obtained and recorded
  • Printing and issuing physical copies of any reports
  • Handling the establishments of Personal Injury Trusts after the initial viability assessment and assisting clients to open Trust Bank Accounts
  • Handling client withdrawal requests in a timely manner
  • Handling client top-ups to investments, and communicating with the client to provide them with progress updates and completion confirmation
  • Dealing with client disengagements through encashments, transfers out and death, ensuring the back-office system is kept up to date to shut fee expectations, tasks and update plan records
  • Dealing with incoming and out-going post
  • Dealing with incoming calls to the main office line
  • Maintaining client records and liaising with providers to update them on client information such as change of names, addresses
  • Preparing and issuing invoices for expert witness work and any other ad-hoc fees
  • Preparing and issuing as-hoc letters
  • Generating MI for team meetings
  • Perform role always ensuring adherence to the expected behaviours stated in the FCA Conduct Rule

Experience and Skill required:

  • Experience in a similar role as an Administrator within an IFA/financial planning firm or someone from a Personal Injury / Trust background
  • Demonstrable interest in and understanding of financial services
  • Proven organisation, planning and prioritising skills
  • Demonstrable level of attention to detail
  • Ability to engage with diverse clients, Professional Advisers, Investment Managers, product providers and internal stakeholders
  • Have passion and energy to deliver successful outcomes for our clients
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and relevant practice and business IT systems, particularly Intelliflo
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Ability to cope with tight deadlines
  • Sensitivity towards vulnerable clients
