Helping a disabled ex-Loughborough Uni Student with daily activities, like shopping, housework, cooking, escorting to places, and some help with the physical aspects of looking after my 5 year old daughter. You would never be left alone/solely responsible for her, but you do need to like children!
Applicants must be reliable, responsible, caring, friendly, flexible, with very good spoken English, and must be female. Must be confident with children. No previous care experience needed (full training provided). Good sense of humour preferred.
Applicants must be good at remembering details and routines. As a carer your role is that of enabling me to be a mum, so you need to be able to use your initiative, but also learn when to "fade into the background" to allow a normal "mum and daughter" relationship to develop. You need to be non-judgemental and willing to learn. No toileting assistance required.
You need to take pride in housekeeking tasks as well as enjoy a certain variety in your job roles.
This can be a fun and diverse job, and it is very much the case that the more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.
Work days: Three consecutive weekdays a week (to be decided with the other carer). Must be willing to swap your ordinary weekday days with weekend days on 12 weeks a year (also to be decided with the other carer).
Usually 9am until around 4pm, but you will need to be flexible. Approx 20 hours a week.
Full contract, pension, holidays etc provided.
