Adecco are currently recruiting for a Personal Advisor to work within a Local Authority based in Woking.

Personal Advisors role is to case hold and provide support to people who have ceased to be looked after by the local authority, including asylum seeking people (referred to as Relevant and Former Relevant people) so that they achieve their potential as they make their transition to adulthood as per the Children Leaving Care Act 2000.
To work to the reporting standards of the department: ensuring that they are structured, evidence based and in accordance with the Directorate Quality Assurance Standards.

The role of the Personal Adviser (PA) is to assist, advise and support 18 - 21 year olds (25 if in higher education) who are eligible for a service as set out in the Children Leaving Care Act 2000.

The Pathway Plan sets out the persons aspirations regarding education, accommodation, health, social relationships and specific needs and for asylum seeking children how their immigration status may impact on these areas.
They can recommend services that the local authority maybe required to pay for however they hold no budget responsibilities but would be required to have an understanding on the finance policy.

PA's will be required to advise people on services to support them on various issues.

Alongside their caseload PA's will be required to carry out duty on a rota basis.

Alongside this PA's maybe responsible for representing the Leaving Care Service at working groups such as participation events and at Care Council meetings.

The PA's will be based in one of the four area based teams located at various children services offices across the authority.

PA's would be expected to visit people living in and out of the county to complete visits including Pathway Reviews.
