£17.64 hourly pay rate

6 month temporary assignment

To provide performance support, analysis and expertise in the production of high quality performance monitoring and analysis reports, highlighting areas of underperformance to stimulate performance improvement and allowing the department to deliver the best long term solutions for

Main duties shall include but are not limited to:
* Provide high-quality performance reports to ensure that the department has clear visibility of progress, success and underperformance and can be effectively held to account by DLT. This includes collating, analysing, presenting, monitoring and communicating a range of performance information
* To support the timely completion of statutory statistical and performance management returns for relevant service areas.
* To proactively champion data quality, identifying areas for improvement and taking appropriate action to ensure improvements are made.
* To support the department in managing the impact of national and regional performance agendas
* Carry out research across government websites for data and benchmarking information, and identifying areas of good practice across other Local Authorities.
* Make recommendations to the Senior Performance and Intelligence officer for further performance data analysis to highlight areas which require improvement to the service.
* Implement and maintain monitoring systems for all departmental indicators, targets and standards.
* Demonstrate basic project management skills in order to provide successful project completion, and the ability to work as part of project teams with colleagues from different teams across the Council.
* The ability to manage a varied and changing workload with tight and conflicting deadlines.

The successful candidate should have:

* Knowledge of local and national performance frameworks of one of the following designated areas, Adults Social Care, Health, Housing, Schools and Education, Children's Social Care.
* Ability to analyse statistical and performance data and use it to support decision making and performance management and improvement.
* Ability to use a range of software and databases including the use of excel and Business Objects to extract and manipulate data, run reports and general editing.
* Ability to produce performance information in reports in graphical, numerical and textual formats.
* Excellent problem solving skills with a proven ability to achieve results
* Ability to work to a high level of accuracy with attention to detail
* Effective communication skills to a range of stakeholders ensuring key messages accurately communicated.
* Ability to work in a cross functional way
