The Pensions Practice, Deloitte Total Rewards and Benefits (DTRB), within the Consulting Service Line is a multi-disciplinary group comprising around 110 professionals - actuaries, employee benefits specialists, investment professionals and administrators, led by seven partners. The practice advises employers on pensions and other employee benefit issues. We are a national practice with a large team in London, together with teams in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast.

Deloitte has a clear commercial focus. The Deloitte Pensions team is well established and has ambitious targets for further growth. In light of this we are currently seeking new members of staff to work within our Trustee Services department which is part of Deloitte’s Actuarial, Reward & Analytics section. The Trustee Services team provide a full range of pension services to a portfolio of defined benefit and defined contribution occupational pension schemes. The successful candidate will be based in our Belfast office and will provide day to day IT support, along with a small team of pension IT professionals, for services encompassing the development and maintenance of the pension administration platform, Trustee and member website.

From the outset you will be involved in the development of the SQL based pension administration platform using your SQL and XML skills. Producing solutions for the various pension schemes that are administered by the DTRB pension team in Belfast. As well as this you will help support the various housekeeping requirements including a pension scheme member web portal, electronic document management system as well as maintenance and upgrading of the various systems, templates and solutions.

Responsibilities

A Pensions Systems Administrator will have responsibility for:

  • Development of technical knowledge of DC and DB occupational pension schemes
  • Programming of member benefits for the various pension schemes that are administered by the pension administration team.
  • Analysis and monitoring of pension data quality on the pension administration system.
  • Development of IT solutions to improve the efficiency within the Trustee Services business
  • Housekeeping and maintenance of the various pension IT systems.
  • Completion of periodic pension scheme projects

Requirements

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • GCSE Maths and English C or above grade or equivalent
  • In total a minimum of 3 A levels at grade C or above or equivalent
  • 3rd level IT related degree or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience of using Microsoft Office, Word and Excel applications to an advanced level
  • Demonstrable SQL and database knowledge
  • HTML/CSS/XML and XSL knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Good interpersonal skills to ensure collaboration with administration, actuarial and consultancy team

Additional desirable experience includes:

  • Experience of working on occupational DB and DC pension schemes
  • Experience working on in an office environment / customer facing role
