Full Time Hours - Temporary Contract

Job Purpose and Role: Verification and processing of all employer/ admitted bodies casework including outsourcing arrangements. Monitoring of invoices and budget under the direction of the Employer Relationship Officer. To work within the team to enhance the provision of an excellent customer service to all employers and admitted bodies regarding outsourcing arrangements; admission agreements and actuarial issues. To be responsible for collating, maintaining and updating statistical information and reports designed to ensure an effective and efficient business support to the team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

*To obtain, compile, verify and process information from employers in relation to TUPE transfers, ensuring information is received by communicating with relevant parties and progressing cases accordingly.

*To perform "bulk transfer" processes via the UPM mainframe system to facilitate new admitted body arrangements

*To assist in the provision of a pension information service to stakeholders within the pension fund(s) administered by West Midlands Pension Fund and deal with employer/admitted bodies casework.

*To obtain, verify and process information from employers in relation to admitted body casework/TUPE outsourcing matters.

*To ensure clean data and procedures are being followed by communicating with relevant parties in order to gain 'buy-in' to new initiatives.

*Create and monitor reports against employer work and identify issues to line management where they exist
*To compile and maintain statistical employer and actuarial information reports including the employer record in Contact Manager (UPM).

*Liaise with external organisations to build and maintain relationships and to ensure full cooperation in clean data exchange

*To interrogate the IT system (UPM) to produce statistical analysis for all reports pertaining to employer information

*To prepare relevant information to assist and facilitate Admission Agreements or similar mechanisms for access to the Local Government Pension Scheme including outsourced transferred function staff.

*To assist in updating employer data on the database to provide information to employing bodies.

*To acquire and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme and working practices of the West Midlands Pension Fund and to gain knowledge of employer requirements under the current and future LGPS changes.

*To assist employers with the completion of Fund forms to ensure accurate information is provided at Employer workshops/seminars.

*To respond to all enquiries from whatever source via various access channels in a positive and professional manner and process them in accordance with the Fund's procedures.

*To provide an accurate and empathetic first class customer service whilst working to tight deadlines and ensuring strict compliance to pension procedures are followed.

*To work within the team to further develop the service, contribute ideas and assist in determining solutions based on first hand experience and monitoring of customer feedback/consultation to continually improve the service provided.

*To assist the Employer Relationship Officers with correspondence/telephone calls during periods of high volume of employer queries, e.g ABS, DBS, Valuation and other employer requirements.

*To act in accordance with the Council's Constitution and other Codes of Conduct.

*To participate in staff development, appraisal and training as appropriate, including continuous professional development.

*To comply with the agreed agreed policies and procedures including but not limited to Health and Safety, and Equal Opportunities Policies, the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act, Financial Management Regulations and other relevant Council and Government Regulations, Directives and City wide priorities.

*To undertake any other tasks, duties and responsibilities as directed and appropriate to the grade and role of the post subject to any reasonable adjustments under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 as incorporated into the Equality Act 2010.

*To participate in the wider development of the service and contribute to service improvement as required.
