Salary: £22,917 - £33,824 UPS U1-U3

This local Academy is an 11-18 co-educational school, in recent years the Academy has become one of the most sought after schools within Lincolnshire, with parents recognising the benefits of choosing a very successful school. The Academy is driven by the aim to aspire and direct the work of all staff and pupils as they strive for a year-on-year improvement. Their curriculum is designed to meet the needs of every student and they offer a broad choice of academic and vocational options.
In June 2015 this Academy was delighted to announce that they were judged 'Good' in all ares following their OFSTED report. The report praised developments across the school, highlighting the progress and behaviour of pupils and their engagement in their learning. This department already has 6 team members however they are now looking for a energetic, enthusiastic PE Teacher to join their expanding department.
What would my new role cover?
The curriculum covers Key Stage 3 - 5
Key Stage 3
All pupils undertake a small series of tests to ensure that they are settled correctly for their PE lessons throughout Key Stage 3. These assessments look at a pupil's ability to overcome opponents in competition, their ability to exercise for sustained periods of time and their physical and intellectual responses to problem solving.
Key Stage 4
This specification follows on from the Key Stage 3 Physical Education programme of study by providing students with exciting opportunities to lead a healthy and active lifestyle by choosing from a variety of roles and activities in which to participate in physical activity. The content of this GCSE Physical Education specification is designed to enable students to enjoy and understand the benefits of living a healthy and active lifestyle; to provide a route to further study in Further Education awards, such as A levels and to Higher Education in PE as well as to related career opportunities.
Key Stage 5
This specification builds on the student's experience from Key Stage 4 and GCSE to enhance their knowledge and increase their understanding of the factors that affect performance and participation in physical education. The qualification looks to equip students with skills and knowledge required for higher education or the world of work. The specification offers students the opportunity to experience and develop an interest in a variety of roles in sport such as performer, official, leader and coach at AS. Students will then specialise in one of these roles at A2.
What you'll need to succeed
