Payroll System Controls and Reporting Manager

Are you a system focused Payroll professional? If so we would love to hear from you. We are working with a Global business based in Milton Keynes, they are looking for someone to join their team in a newly created role which will play a pivotal part in the long term development of the Payroll department. The role with be working collaboratively with the Payroll manger as a "systems super user", supporting on key projects and ensuring the system can add real value, leading on the development of robust systems and controls and provide a single point for provision of information for external and internal requests. This role will organically grow and it offers a great deal of scope for someone to really make an impact. Although previously experience of Resourcelink would be beneficial, the client is also very keen to speak to super users of other payroll systems as full training on the Resourcelink system will be provided.


  • Ensure the systems used within payroll meet the needs of payroll, the business and legislative requirements in terms of paying employees
  • Provide support to payroll teams with the BAU support with system issues including training for new and existing staff where appropriate
  • Work with outsourced partners to ensure continuous process improvement across all systems
  • Ensure testing of all system changes including development requests, year-end patches and bug fixes to maintain the integrity of the system
  • Provide support to HR with TUPE and Acquisition support in developing the systems in line with the new requirements
  • Ensure regular meetings with all third party system providers to discuss issues and support matters
  • Maintain issues and development logs for each system to ensure visibility of progress
  • Ensure systems are GDPR compliant for storing employee information
  • Provide support to the teams to upload changes baulk changes such as pay awards, bonus and unions subscriptions


  • Ensure all system controls provide the necessary assurance to ensure the integrity of the payroll identifying areas of weakness to be improved
  • Ensure robust disaster recovery plans in place to reduce or mitigate the impact of loss of each system
  • To provide MI information to highlight exceptional items in the payroll system


  • Respond to information requests from the business for ad-hoc reporting re
  • Manage ad-hoc requests for information from within the organisation with a view to providing information as quickly and efficiently as possible
  • Provide support to internal and external audit in terms of providing reports and responding to queries
