Payroll Officer

A very successful business based in the Bolton are looking for a Payroll Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. Ideally you will have at least 2 years experience of working in a previous payroll position. You will have keen eye for detail and be able to manage your own workload.


Under the supervision of the Financial Controller your duties will be:

  • Maintaining employee records and contracts of employment
  • Ensure that all payroll instructions are prepared and logged in time for the monthly payroll run to be completed for example; contractual variations, new starters, leavers, contractual benefits and staff benefits.
  • Monitoring employee working hours
  • Issuing P45s and other tax forms
  • Maternity/Paternity pay
  • Dealing with queries
  • Processing holiday, sick pay, maternity pay and expenses
  • Issuing P45s and other tax forms
  • Maintaining employee records and contracts of employment


You must be confident on Excel and be confident with Pivot Tables and VLookups.


You must also have excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with employees in all areas of the company.
