Payroll Officer

Nelson Chambers are recruiting for a Payroll Officer to join our client in Billericay.

Working within a team you will be an integral part of the smooth migration of the clients’ current external payroll operations to an in-house provision. You will also be given the opportunity to help set up new procedures and processes.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Processing monthly payroll amendments
  • Processing annual salary and bonus reviews, including any incremental pay increases
  • Monthly and annual returns
  • Lead and conduct the review and development of payroll operations
  • Install, managing and controlling the move to a new payroll model
  • Ensure that all stages of the payroll process is properly actioned
  • Ensure compliance with the latest legislation
  • Production of detailed management reports as required
  • Monthly pension returns
  • Monthly reconciliations

Person Specification:

  • Experience of running a large inhouse computerised payroll
  • Experience of migrating from an externally provided service to inhouse provision
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Excel
  • Payroll qualification desirable but not essential
  • Have a good attention to detail
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines

Details:

  • Permanent, full time
  • Monday to Friday - 9AM - 5:15PM (5PM finish on a Friday)
  • Salary negotiable depending on experience

  • 25 days hols per year + 3 days for Xmas shutdown
