Acorn Finance and Accountancy is recruiting for a Payroll Manager/Bookkeeper on behalf of their client, a firm of Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisors who are a rapidly growing, dynamic practice. The firm has been established for over 40 years and due to continued success and major investment in the business.

The role requires a confident and friendly individual, someone who has the drive, appetite and motivation to take responsibility for their work load.

Key Responsibilities:

* Processing weekly, fortnightly, 4 weekly and monthly payroll for 150 clients
* Preparation of management accounts & cash flow statements
* Preparation of tax computations, CT600s & self-assessment returns completion
* Preparation of VAT returns

Knowledge and experience:

* Experience with Sage Payroll 50 essential
* Auto enrolment knowledge essential
* Experience with NEST
* Knowledge of attachment of earnings, CCVs, mileage and other deductions
* Experience of applying for advanced payments from HMRC for SMP
* Knowledge of all areas of manual calculations (SSP, SMP, SPP, NI/PAYE, etc.)
* ACCA / ACA / QBE is preferred
* Strong computer skills
* Strong analytical and accounting skills
* Self-assessment tax knowledge ideal
