Payroll Manager

Due to business expansion, I am working with a client to recruit a Payroll Manager to support, motivate and lead the Payroll and wider Accounts team.

The role is full time, permanent and easily accessible by public transport.

Duties to include:

• Taking responsibility and leadership of the Payroll function
• Developing processes and procedures 
• Ensuring accuracy within the Payroll process - supporting the Payroll Team Leader with the weekly proofing and confirmation
• Assisting and contributing to the development of the Payroll/Finance IT systems
• Working to targets and developing a series of management reports for the directors 
• Keeping up to date with Payroll legislation and the potential effects on the business, relaying any necessary information to the Finance Director
• Assisting the Finance Director after completion of any business acquisitions in incorporating the new business into the payroll structure

Person Specification:

• Knowledge of PAYE/NI and Pension Legislation
• Experience of handling high volume Payroll and understanding of rules and regulations
• Strong management skills to include leadership, mentoring and supporting staff
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle any issues in a tactful manner
• A recognised Payroll qualification
• Strong Excel skills
• A solid understanding of wider Finance and Accounting procedures
