Job Title: Payroll Manager Stand Alone

Our client is an established name in professional services, Due to an up and coming retirement they are active in their search for a Payroll Manager to join them on a permanent basis
You will need to have experience of processing payroll for high earning staff, c £100.000 upwards
Job Purpose
This is a stand-alone position reporting into the Financial Director. This is processing monthly payrolls for c 450 salaried staff using ADP Freedom. Experience of using ADP Freedom is essential
Skills Required
Responsibilities
Responsible for the sole payroll processing of 4 monthly payrolls, using ADP freedom
Payment of expenses monthly via the payrun, using the Concur system
Preparation and submission of P11Ds and PSA to HMRC
Pensions administration of 2 defined contribution schemes, liaison with Royal London and Friends Life
Preparing monthly payroll journals
Involvement in budget process, payroll costs allocations, director emolument certificates
Provide additional resource to the HR team on a 1-2 days a week basis over the year
Day to day:
To ensure that the 4 payrolls are processed accurately, including pay and bonus
Process monthly expenses payments, which are paid in the pay run
Prepare detailed payroll reconciliations pre and post commit, obtain Board approval for monthly payroll and post salary journals to Enterprise 9
Processing bonus payments – cash awards and deferred payments (always in v short time window)
Processing bonus sacrifice on bonus awards
Cash in lieu of pension calculations
PDI calculations
Salary advance payments
Cycle to work scheme
Payment of season ticket loans, balance sheet reconciliations, administration of the online childcare voucher scheme
Ensure all changes are approved by the Board under governance
Dealing with payroll queries – not just pay slip queries
Dealing with historical queries
HMRC
Preparation and submission of P11Ds (to include cost plus BIKs), PSA, P46(car)
Pensions
Administration of the pension schemes, including online entries to Royal London platform
Managing Auto enrolment obligations with HR team
Reporting
Provide data to management and finance including for the budget process, headcount, costings,
Preparation of director emolument certificates
Qualifications Required
About you:
Experience of input into ADP Freedom for starters, leavers, monthly changes
Experience of salary sacrifice for childcare vouchers and bikes and pensions
Pension Auto Enrolment
Intermediate Level Excel
Good interpersonal and communication skills. Dealing with staff members at all levels of the company, including directors
Sole payroller experience, ability to meet all payroll and HMRC deadlines without prompting, ability to manage oneself and complete all tasks
Must be able to demonstrate that they can work to deadlines and prioritise accordingly
Methodical and good organisation skills
Payroll related qualification desirable
