Our public sector client based in Washington Sunderland have an exciting opportunity for experienced Payroll Co-Ordinator to join their busy team.
Temporary ongoing contract
Hours Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm
Purpose of the role
To oversee the day to day management of all functional payroll activities, providing technical and specialist support and advice to all employees, ensuring services provided are effective, efficient and in compliance with relevant requirements.
Qualification in (or working towards or prepared to study) relating to payroll or significant relevant experience. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
Experience working in a payroll environment
dealing with payroll and pension and exchequer activities assisting in the production of financial reports dealing with complex payroll issues.
dealing with general payroll/pension/exchequer activities · supervising staff
Computerised payroll systems
Computerised Financial Information Systems
Payroll/pension issues and legislation
Accounting principles · Data Protection issues
Provide guidance relating to payroll
Undertake budget monitoring processes.
Supervise a team
Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy
Carry out quality assurance of data
Demonstrate effective time management to work to conflicting priorities, meet deadlines and targets
Delegate activities to payroll team
Demonstrate effective IT skills including use payroll systems
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to enable liaison at all levels internally and externally.
Prepare and produce reports
Work on own initiative and as part of a team
Demonstrate knowledge of safe working principles and practices associated with Health and Safety
Demonstrate knowledge of safe working principles and practices associated with Equality and Diversity.
