Duties will include:
*Sole responsibility for one monthly payroll, one weekly payroll and one pensioners' payroll. This covers all aspects of payroll production, including data collection, issuing the payroll and reporting to the Revenue and other authorities
*Ensure all tax, national insurance, pension contributions and similar deductions are charged and calculated properly in accordance with legislative and other regulations are paid to the relevant bodies on an accurate and timely basis, in accordance with legal requirements
*Completion of monthly and year end returns to HMRC, including benefit-in-kind returns (P11d and P9d) and PAYE Settlement Agreements etc
*Completion of monthly and year end returns to the pension providers
*Administer sick and maternity pay
*Liaise with colleagues regarding providing timesheets and guidance to collect the monthly pay and timesheet information necessary to complete the payroll
*Working closely with the HR Manager regarding pay and hours, leavers and joiners, pay and conditions
*Dealing effectively and courteously with payroll and pension queries from other employees
*Liaising with and providing information to other members of the accounting function and personnel staff to ensure that payroll information is incorporated into the accounting and personnel records on a timely and accurate basis
*Assist the HR Manager with duties as and when needed.
The ideal candidate will be a confident payroll systems user and have a keen eye for detail.
