Payroll & Benefits Officer - Altrincham, Up to £30,000

Your new company leads the way within the insurance industry. They are looking for a payroll and benefits officer to join their friendly team based in Altrincham.
Your new role
Your role will entail administering both the UK and Irish payroll accurately and in line with the payroll deadlines and processing leaver calculations including, basic pay, holiday pay and deductions. You will complete monthly overtime, salary and job role changes, staff loans, tickets and all other deductions in line with payroll deadlines and comprehensively check for errors to keep them to a minimum. You will also liaise with the HR team to ensure all absences are up to date, compliance is followed and attrition and absence statistics are correct. You will also provide advice on payroll queries, design and produce adhoc reports and liaise with our external payroll providers and external benefit providers.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will have a strong payroll background, with a good working knowledge of payroll legislation including statutory payments and salary sacrifice. You will be able to analyse and interpret financial data, be adaptable to system changes and have flexibility with the demands of the role. You will have excellent communication skills, great organisational and time management capabilities and be self-motivated using your own initiative to work independently of as part of a team. Attention to detail is key along with an excellent working knowledge of Excel. You would be at an advantage if you have used ADP software, specifically Freedom or dealt with annualised hours' contracts before.
