Payroll & Benefits Officer


We are looking to recruit a Payroll & Benefits Officer to work in our busy HR department.

The role will involve:

  • Administering both UK and Irish payroll accurately and in line with the payroll deadlines
  • Processing leaver calculations including, basic pay, holiday pay and deductions
  • Ensuring the payroll system is up to date by processing changes in salary and job roles
  • Completing monthly overtime for both the UK and Ireland
  • Ensuring staff loans, tickets and all other deductions are completed in line with payroll deadlines
  • Providing comprehensive monthly checks on both payrolls to ensure errors are kept to a minimum
  • Liaising with the HR team to ensure all absences are up to date and are completed in line with the payroll deadlines
  • Reconciling monthly payroll reports to sign off at Director level
  • Liaising with our external payroll providers in both UK and Ireland
  • Providing accurate advice on payroll queries
  • Administering and promoting Company benefits including salary sacrifice
  • Contributing to monthly HR statistics to include attrition and absences
  • Designing and producing adhoc reports using the payroll software
  • Liaising with external benefit providers
  • Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation including national minimum wage

The successful candidate must:

  • Have a good working knowledge of payroll legislation including statutory payments
  • Knowledge of salary sacrifice
  • Be adaptable to system changes and demands of the role
  • Have excellent working knowledge of Excel
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have good organisational and time management skills
  • Pay attention to detail

In addition, the successful candidate will desirably have:

  • Used ADP payroll software, specifically Freedom
  • Have been in a role which has dealt with annualised hours contracts
