We're thrilled to be recruiting once again for this superb local business in their hunt for a dynamic but hands on Payroll & Benefits Manager on a 12 month FTC basis. A fast paced and volume driven business, our client offers a superb working environment with a real chance to lead and drive process, despite the fact it is a contractual role.

A varied role with a genuine mix of strategic input, but hands-on payroll ownership and the need to manage staff and lead a team accordingly; this is a meaty role for a confident candidate to begin as soon as possible! Reporting directly to the HR Director, we are seeking candidates from backgrounds that sees payroll and employee benefits as very closely linked - this role will head both up and is integral to the day to day running of the business as a result.

Key duties include:

  • Provide leadership, direction and effective day to day management of the Payroll team ensuring accurate and timely payments are made to all staff.
  • Process and oversee the payrolls of multiple businesses and schemes on both a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Manage the renewal and re-tender of employee benefit plans.
  • Provide effective day to day management of the business employee benefits platform and manage the relationship with third party suppliers.
  • Production of all statutory returns to regulatory deadlines.

This is a high volume environment with a large number of employees - but an efficient and well oiled team; from a contractual perspective, the candidate will be stepping into a great environment to maintain and move forward with. Experience with a large number of difference payroll systems and IT packages will be an advantage as while our client operates a specific and unique system, it is easy to operate and pick up if the general awareness is there.
