Top 20 Accountancy Practice seeking Payroll Assistant to join their Chester team

A Top 20 accountancy practice with international presence and 22 offices across the North West alone. Due to considerable expansion this firm are looking to recruit a new Payroll Assistant into their Chester office.
Your new role
As a Payroll Assistant, you will be joining a busy payroll team who are responsible for providing payroll services to clients of the practice. You will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll process for your own portfolio of clients with varying employee numbers. Currently the team process the payroll of high number of clients, dealing with all aspects that affect payroll, from the set-up of PAYE schemes with HMRC through to submitting end of year reports and issuing P60s and P45s. You will also be responsible for processing starters and leavers, RTI submissions, auto-enrolment and contacting HMRC in regards to client pay runs.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed you will possess excellent communication skills, have a proven knowledge of the entire life cycle of payroll production from PAYE schemes and have previous experience working within a Payroll team either within Practice or within a Payroll Bureau. Ideally, you will have experience of Sage Payroll software and be a good user of Microsoft Word and Excel. You will also work well as a part of an efficient team, and be able to build relationships with clients as well as all internal departments. Applicants with experience of CIS will be looked upon favourably. You will also live locally to this Chester based job.
