Your new company is a globally successful company specialising in integrated facilities management and property maintenance throughout multiple sectors. Due to their continuous growth they are seeking an experienced payroll assistant to join their friendly team in Wythenshawe.
Your new role
Your role will entail processing in-house payrolls quickly and accurately ensuring you meet the Payroll Service level targets. You will be: requesting BACS re-calls, manual re-calculations, special runs and faster payments; liaising with HMRC, Courts and other third party contacts to ensure that employee records etc. are updated in a timely manner; requesting re-calculations of payslips and; recording overpayments in the overpayment log. Providing sample data for all internal and external audits, answering queries raised by auditors and modifying the processes and procedures to enable the department to undertake business continuity/disaster recovery procedures. You will also be assisting with training site contacts and much more.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you would have experience of payroll within a similar position and be able to demonstrate knowledge of payroll legislation. You will have experience of working from your own initiate and also within a team working on a large / high volume payroll e.g. 400 weekly employees. Must be computer literate, able to work under pressure, be an enthusiastic logical person who can modify their approach to reach the end goal. Previous experience of using ADP's Freedom payroll software, Qtac payslip checking software, JD Edwards (accounting software) and completing the full payroll 'end to end' process would be desirable but not essential. But most importantly you should believe in your job and your value to the organisation.
