We are working closely with a reputable and successful company based in Burnley and as such are recruiting for an experienced Payroll Assistant to take on a permanent position. With a long serving team already in place, we are seeking someone able to commit to this role long term and in return you’ll be part of a stable, well established and supportive team.

Your role in your new job

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the payroll process and therefore you will need to be confident in your abilities. You’ll be able to work quickly and to tight deadlines ensuring that all records are maintained accurately and that all queries are responded to. You will also be responsible for auto enrolment pension schemes and ensuring that the correct deductions are made. You’ll have a focused and self-motivated approach and will also be able to assist with other departmental tasks such as bank reconciliations and accounts preparation.  

Your experience and our requirements

Experience of working as a Payroll Assistant or similar is essential for your success in this role. You will require knowledge of employment law changes and regulations as well as experience of liaising with the HMRC. Knowledge and experience of processing SSP/SMP/SPP is also essential for this role. We require strong IT skills and ability to work quickly in sometimes busy scenarios. You will also need excellent communication skills and will be experienced at responding to and resolving queries from a broad range of internal and external sources.
