Payroll and Finance Assistant - Plymouth - To: £19,000
Trial Balance Consulting have been assigned by a fast-paced services business based in Plympton, who seek to recruit an experienced payroll and general finance assistant to join their small head office team. This is a full time and permanent opportunity.
The successful candidate will perform a pivotal role within the finance function, particularly where payroll is concerned, but additionally offering a wide range of general finance support. The role reports to the Finance Manager and the successful candidate can expect an interesting and varied role covering the following areas:
- Payroll administration (weekly/monthly) working to HMRC guidelines, ideally with a working knowledge of pension arrangements
- Maintenance of sales and purchase ledger
- Bank reconciliations
- General office and finance administration
Suitable candidates may be part/fully AAT qualified or possess suitable experience in a similar role (including payroll duties). The company utilises a bespoke CRM so a good aptitude for learning new IT skills is essential, as will be exposure to MS Excel and SAGE based systems (ideally line 200). The positions will interact with colleagues across all departments and the successful candidate will communicate regularly with customers and suppliers, so strong interpersonal skills are a must.
