We’re currently recruiting for a Payroll Administrator to join a well-established and highly regarded accountancy and advisory firm based in the City of London. This is an exciting opportunity for a payroll professional with experience in a fast-paced, client-focused environment - especially those who enjoy variety, responsibility, and being part of a supportive and collaborative team.

As a Payroll Administrator, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate, compliant payroll services across a diverse portfolio of clients.

From liaising with HMRC to supporting auto-enrolment, handling statutory payments, and responding to client queries, you’ll be integral in ensuring the smooth operation of each payroll cycle.

• Accurately process end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of clients
• Liaise with clients to obtain necessary information and answer technical queries
• Handle statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, and student loans
• Update tax codes and manage payroll changes from third-party sources
• Perform peer reviews and audit checks to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Support year-end processing and reporting
• Work collaboratively with other payroll team members and offices
• Ensure all data and communication is recorded accurately in internal systems
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and best practices

• A minimum of 1 year’s payroll administration experience (ideally in a bureau or practice setting)
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and auto-enrolment compliance
• Confidence in calculating payroll manually
• Experience with pensions, benefits, and statutory payments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
• A customer-focused approach with a commitment to high standards
• A payroll qualification (desirable but not essential)
