An opportunity has arisen within the Gastroenterology Directorate for a Patient Scheduling Clerk with excellent organisational skills to work collaboratively with our nursing, medical and scheduling team across three hospital Sites. Royal Gwent, Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr & Nevill Hall.

You should be resilient, motivated, organised, work well under pressure and have exceptional communication skills. You will work closely with the Consultants, Nursing, Scheduling and Directorate Management Team.

In addition you will be a named contact point for your Consultant team, liaising with other departments, patients and relatives, as well as clinical colleagues to ensure that patient admissions are appropriately planned and managed.

The post holder will:

Work with the straight to test nurses to monitor and highlight urgent suspected cancer patients through their pathways, escalating any delays whilst laising with various staff within Primary & Secondary care.

Work with other scheduling staff to ensure that there is efficient and effective use of available resources at all times.

Arrange admissions and manage theatre lists, across all three sites.

Play a key central role within the service and is required to work in close liaison with NHS colleagues, patients and the general public.

Will ensure that cancellations are rebooked.

The successful applicant must be willing to travel between ABUHB Hospital sites.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
