Pathology Urgent Referral Cancer Tracker

The main duties of the role involve monitoring and managing pathology requests to ensure that patient's diagnostic specimens are examined and reports issued within the agreed Cancer Targets. You will be required to liaise with colleagues within the Pathology Department, Diagnostic Trackers, Clinical Audit and where necessary staff from other departments to ensure the agreed targets are met. Establishing and developing strong collaborative relationships with other Cancer Tracker across referring services is a key requirement of this role. You will also be required to provide statistical information on performance and targets achieved to the Directorate Management Team, Pathology and the cancer MMI. You will ensure the escalation policy is adhered to and acted upon. You should have a HNC/SVQ111 Business Administration or equivalent with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of medical terminology would also be beneficial. The hours of this post are worked Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm. This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme.
