Patent Paralegal

Key Responsibilities:
- Instructing overseas associates for patent and design filings and responses
- Preparing cost estimates for clients
- Reporting filing, prosecution, and grant communications to clients, and providing draft reporting for fee earner approval
- Utilising IP management systems such as Inprotech for efficient workflow
- Collaborating with clients, attorneys, and administrators to manage client portfolios
- Ensuring legal requirements are met for patent filings, including obtaining legal documents
- Handling administrative tasks such as diary management, invoicing, and document proofing
Candidate Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Patent Paralegal/similar position
- A CIPA qualification
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy
- Docketing and Trade Mark Prosecution experience would also be advantageous
- Proactive team player with the capacity to work autonomously when necessary
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including client-facing interactions
- Familiarity with electronic records and billing systems is a plus
- A readiness to work additional hours occasionally to meet deadlines
