The home caters for young people, male or female, aged between 10 to the day before their 18th birthday with severe complex needs.
The home takes on planned and emergency referral, and offer 2:1 support.
We are looking to recruit a motivated Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated team, The Young people we support and provide care for, can require higher and lower levels of support which means they can be very anxious at time.
As any family home, with a lot of young people the home can become very agitated and angry environment, with our young people often display aggression towards the staff and also have difficulties to adjust to a routine.

Salary currently under review
£7.65 to £8.30
Driving licence preferred but not essential
Must be 21 years old or above
Types of duties
These can be varied but they are all centred on the young people and it can include;
- Providing encouragement when getting ready for school
- Care plans
- Transportation (Use of Company car)
- Meal planning
- Organising social activities
- Maintaining the home (cleaning, laundry and shopping etc)
- Leasing with external bodies and our internal Multi-Disciplinary Team
Two days are never the same, one day you can be on social activities and the following day you can be spending the whole afternoon providing 1:1 support to a young person. The right Residential Support Worker needs to be flexible, adaptable and able to read situation and help our young people make positive choices.
Example of one week shift:
Monday: Early – Late - Sleep: 10.00 am to midnight. Sleep and wake up and ready by 7.30 am.
Tuesday: Day Off
Wednesday: Day Off
Thursday: Early – Late - Sleep: 10.00 am to midnight. Sleep and wake up and ready by 7.30 am.
Friday: Day Off
Saturday: Day Off
Sunday: Early – Late - Sleep: 10.00 am to midnight. Sleep and wake up and ready by 7.30 am.

The schedule is release 5 weeks in advance and the staff will know exactly what days they are expected to be working. You will receive one full weekend off a month.
Requirements for DBS and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice.
