Partnership IT Operations Manager

These are exciting times for the ICT team within The Howard Partnership Trust. We have a new ICT strategy which gives a clear direction of travel for the next five years. To enable us to deliver an ICT service to be proud of, we are looking for an experienced ICT Operations Manager to lead our growing ICT Infrastructure and Support teams.

Enterprise grade technology, practices and frameworks are being introduced as we change to a shared services model with a centralised Infrastructure Team and local support teams for our schools. Two datacentres are being created as we standardise our offering across our schools (currently nine and growing) and embrace cloud technology, particularly Microsoft Office 365.

To be successful you will need to be resilient, enthusiastic and driven in order to help transform our service. Along with strong people management and communication skills, you will need to have broad, strong technical knowledge gained from hands-on experience.

Reporting to and working with the THPT Director of ICT you will set new standards, establish processes and procedures, and deliver a great customer experience. You will also manage key projects and be instrumental in implementing our ICT model into schools joining the Trust and into new school builds, including a new building for our lead school with approximately 2,000 student capacity.

You will directly manage, coach and mentor an Infrastructure Team Leader and two Support Team Leaders, and engage with stakeholders across the Trust. You will also form strong relationships with key partners and suppliers.

This is a varied and exciting role, in which you can prove your adaptability and apply your broad skillset. You will ideally have previous experience of managing geographically dispersed teams. Education sector experience is preferable, but not essential. While you will spend a significant amount of time in our office at Hersham, this role will require the post holder to travel between the member organisations of The Howard Partnership Trust across Surrey.
