Your new role
Given this, Hays is delighted to be partnered with the firm to recruit for a (part-time) VAT Manager, a position which has come about due to business growth and success. Ideally, the individual will work 20 to 27 hours per week, but the extent and format is up for discussion to ensure feasibility and flexibility for both parties. As the successful applicant, you will provide expert advice and support to the Partners on VAT projects and be an invaluable lead in respect to proactive tax planning and business development, while overseeing and checking VAT compliance work completed by the growing Tax function and additional accounts individuals. Further to this, you will take on the more complex and technical VAT compliance and advisory work for SME organisations such as sole traders, owner managed businesses, charities, partnerships and limited companies across a variety of industries.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be VAT specialist with a proven track record within a professional practice, including compliance and advisory work for a variety of clients. Given the friendly nature of the firm and job requirements, you will be a positive individual, with excellent communication and organisation skills. A relevant qualification, such as CTA, ATT, ACCA, ICAS or equivalent, is highly desirable.
