We have exciting opportunities for Flexible, passionate and creative Support workers to join our teams working across the Frome and Nunney areas of East Mendip, supporting adults with a learning disabilities and Autism to live a fulfilled, happy and safe life.

We support people living in their own homes across a variety of different hours during the week, from just a few hours a day to people who need support across 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You will be supporting people both in their own homes with meal preparation, personal care, planning and household tasks and ensuring people have the opportunity to access their local and wider community by supporting with travel training, keeping safe, social and leisure activities and groups.

Your role will be to ensure the people we support are living their best life, making their own choices and working towards their goals and aspirations, as part of person centred and flexible support.

Being a driver, with access to a car for work purposes, is essential for this role as you will be required to work across all areas of East Mendip. Where travelling between shifts, and dependent on location and base, mileage may be paid at 0.43p per mile.

About Us

At Affinity Trust all of the people we support have a learning disability but many have associated health needs, dementia, physical disabilities, profound and multiple learning disability or mental health needs.

Being a support worker means you are integral to the day to day lives of the people you support, helping them with various activities such as assistance with personal care, household chores, meal preparation, leisure activities, social inclusion and maintaining health and well-being.

Skills & Experience

You will need to be able to work early shifts (7am - 2.30pm), late shifts (2.30pm - 10pm), occasional weekends and bank holidays. In addition, waking nights are part of a flexible rota.

All our Support Workers complete shadow shifts before working with the people we support and those that have not previously worked in care will be supported with completing the Care Certificate.
