Exciting Part Time Receptionist/Secretarial opportunity based in central Cambridge

Our client is a leading Not-for-Profit research organisation based in central Cambridge. With over 50 years of research history, they are fully independent institution constituted as a non-profit company and a registered charity with global profile.
Your new role
The main aspects of this role will be to provide an efficient and friendly first point of contact for all visitors and to provide support to the other members of the Finance, HR and administration teams; assisting with the organisation of workshops, conferences and meetings under the instruction of the HR Manager; undertaking activities to ensure the efficient smooth running of the office and reception.
The role is split into three different areas, Reception; Hospitality and Secretarial.
Reception duties consist of answering incoming internal and external telephone and personal enquiries, filtering calls accordingly and checking answerphone messages, taking messages and forwarding these by e-mail or voice-mail; receiving visitors; accepting deliveries and arranging couriers as requested; sorting incoming and outgoing post.
Hospitality duties include making catering arrangements for meetings and visitors, arranging exhibition shipments and collecting foreign currency as required.
Secretarial duties include controlling stationery, first aid box, tuck shop and coffee machine stock levels; maintaining noticeboard; printing business cards; maintaining filing and archiving systems; maintaining the building maintenance schedule, liaising with contractors to ensure the agreed visits happen, as well as other general and ad hoc administration and secretarial duties.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be educated to A-level standard or equivalent, and have previous customer service experience. A strong knowledge of Windows Office software is key along with the ability to learn how to use bespoke IT systems.
You should be able to liaise confidently with people at all levels and in varied situations, and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
The role will be working with limited supervision, so you should be able to make decisions appropriate to level of responsibility and be comfortable working with limited supervision.
You will have the ability to exercise initiative in routine problem-solving, have an excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and a friendly and approachable manner.

This is a Part Time position of 20 hours spread over 4/5 days a week, offering a salary of circa. £18,000 pro rata.
