Part-time HR Advisor

HR Advisor required for a 6-month FTC for a client in Epsom. This is a part-time position (ideally 3 days a week) offering a salary of £30,000 pro rata. In this role you will report to the Head of HR and will work closely with the HR Coordinator and the rest of the HR team to deliver a comprehensive HR service.

In this role you will:
• Support the Head of Human Resources and work with the HR Coordinator on all HR matters in a confidential and professional manner
• Be responsible for providing day-to-day guidance responding to reactive issues to help ensure the smooth and efficient running of the comprehensive support service provided by the team
• Liaise with staff at all levels and interact with external parties including, agencies, suppliers and candidates
• Promote and adhere to the company’s HR Policies and Procedures
• Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on all HR-related matters, escalating issues where necessary
• Provide first line support for ER issues including performance management and any disciplinary and grievance matters
• Support the Head of HR with re-structures, redundancy consultations etc
• Manage sickness issues including long term sickness absences, OH referrals etc
• Manage maternity, paternity and shared parental leave
• Support recruitment processes including conducting interviews
• Support the management of exit interviews in conjunction with the leaver’s questionnaire
• You will also contribute to the overall effective running of the Central Office as appropriate, including completing other duties as reasonably requested

• Experience of practising HR in a busy environment in a generalist capacity, including experience of managing disciplinary and grievance matters, and recruitment processes
• Good understanding of employment legislation
• Effective communication skills with the ability to gain credibility quickly
• Excellent all-round IT Skills, including MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and experience of using an HR database
• Excellent organisational skills with good attention to detail
• The ability to multitask and work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines
• The resilience to handle difficult and sometime sensitive situations
• A driven and self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work unsupervised when required
• Good relationship management skills
• A team-player

You will also ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent and be CIPD qualified/part-qualified – the client will also consider those qualified by experience.
