I am representing a fantastic and fun company, who is looking for a Finance Assistant to join their team on a part time basis. 

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the Sales, Purchase ledger and other accounting duties.

This is a part time role - 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday. There is flexibility on start and finish time but you must work 4 hours a day, 5 days a week.


Sales: All Sales Ledger control including:
- Processing of EDI Customer Stock Sales Invoices from Sales Orders
- Processing of all Industrial (Non EDI) Stock Sales Orders and Invoices
- Allocating Customer Payments against invoices
- Identifying Customer Debit Notes in order to contra against any purchase invoices via the Bank Reconciliation.
- Issuing and notifying customers of Debit Notes relating to Customer complaints
- Running the P&L and Balance Sheet in preparation for Monthly Management Meeting
- Completing month end stock valuation spreadsheet and investigating stock discrepancies
- Monthly credit control processing

Purchasing: All Purchase Ledger control including:
- Processing all general Purchase Invoices
- Processing all PO’s for stock purchases & inputting the purchase invoices
- Processing Transport Invoices
- Journaling Purchase invoices into the relevant months
- Weekly Supplier payments via the GBP & EUR accounts
- Dealing with any Supplier payment queries
- Reconciling Supplier statements against Sage and following up on any missing invoices

Other: Other duties include:

- Processing wage journals
- Monthly Bank Reconciliation including, GBP A/C, EUR A/C, Reserve A/C, credit cards & expenses
- Post journals relevant month end journals
- Intrastat and EC Sales reports
- Ad hoc duties as required by the Finance Manager

In order to be considered, you will need to have:

- Experience of working on SAGE
- AAT Qualified or studying
- High skill levels working with Microsoft Excel
- An organised and confident manner demonstrating discretion and initiative
- A flexible approach and an enjoyment of team work with enthusiasm and willingness to adapt to the changing demands of the role
- Able to develop a close working relationship with colleagues to ensure urgent matters are dealt with promptly
