Part-time Finance Administrator (8-month contract)

We are on the look-out for a highly experienced Finance Administrator, for a new part-time, 8-month maternity cover contract, with flexible working hours.

The Role

The purpose of the Part-time Finance Administrator will be to provide effective support for the company finance team, covering a range of areas including Sales / Purchase Ledger & Credit Control.

This is a part-time, contract position of approximately 8 months, working 25 hours per week.

The Part-time Finance Administrator will have a wealth of all round accounts acumen, able to quickly adjust to the new role and hit the ground running. Other essentials include strong people skills, resilience and a meticulous attention to detail

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Credit control, looking to ensure payments are received within agreed payment terms
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Banking tasks
  • VAT returns
  • Bank reconciliations - sterling & foreign currencies
  • Supplier payments, remittance advices & chasing up supplier credit notes
  • Intrastat returns
  • Customer statements
  • Manage new customer processes
  • Warranty claims
  • Processing proof of delivery documentation
  • Reconciling credit & debit notes
  • Checking statements
  • Rebate accruals
  • Inputting purchase invoices
  • Resolving any invoice issues

Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years within Accounts & Finance, including working knowledge of reconciliations, credit control, sales & purchase ledger
  • Able to work to strict time frames & monitor effectiveness
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Previous accounting qualifications also desirable
  • First-rate attention to detail
  • Data flow management
  • Excellent communication & influencing skills
  • Problem solving & negotiating
