Location: Basildon, Essex

Salary: £19,000 per Annum + 6% shift allowance = £20,140 per annum (pro rata)

Start: 9th December 2019

Type: Permanent, part time

Hours: Monday - Saturday 4pm - 8pm / 5pm - 9pm with 1 day off in the week

Training: 4 Weeks, Monday to Friday 5pm - 9pm

Assessment: Monday 18th November 2019 at 12pm.

Duties:

  • Working in a telephony-based role, speaking to Merchants who are in arrears
  • Dealing with a variety of calls and establishing the reason for arrears to try and get the Merchant’s account back up to date
  • Remaining professional with Merchants over the phone as you will be the first point of contact and you will need to try to find the best solution for the Merchant
  • You may have to deal with challenging conversations, and you may need to transfer calls to the correct team
  • Working on a computer and using our in-house systems to be able to provide the best customer service
  • Going through security and taking payments from Merchants, ensuring that you are adhering to financial regulations

Personal Qualities:

  • Empathy - Being able to put yourself in the Merchant’s shoes as every call will be different with some being more challenging than others
  • Problem solving - This is vital for this position, whether it is collecting a payment or alternatively putting the correct arrangements in place for the Merchant’s account
  • Organisation skills - Ensuring that you are punctual, have good time management and can work across multiple systems while communicating with Merchants
  • Communication - Able to listen, empathise and understand a variety of issues that a Merchant could have regarding the arrears
