This growing SME has a requirement for a Part Qualified Company Accountant to join their Head Office site to facilitate the stable and steady growth of the company in line with their strategic objectives.
Reporting to the Managing Director and delegating to your assistant, you will be solely responsible for the overall Accounting function for the company. You will assume responsibility for co-ordinating the day to day operations of the business, specifically the administration, quality management and finance functions and to ensure that effective support is provided to the entire management team.

Duties & Responsibilities
These include but are not limited to:
-Managing the company's full finance and accounting functions
-Providing monthly management accounts and reports for MD as directed
-Assisting the MD in developing and monitoring basic operational budgets for the company
-Implementing new processes and streamlining existing processes to ensure the effective operation of the overall business and improve costs
-Ensuring good management of Cash Flow
-A full review of business processes and reporting on costs, making recommendations for ways to streamline and reduce costs
Your overall objectives will be to:
- Ensure the accuracy of Financial Accounts
- Continually look at ways to reduce costs and maximise profitability by producing regular management accounts and conducting regular cost analyses
- Assist the Managing Director with the ongoing strategic growth of the organisation
Occasional travel to other sites within the UK may be required from time to time (4 - 5 times annually), subject to a reasonable amount of notice.
The right person for this role will demonstrate a high degree of business acumen and a thorough Accounting knowledge. Whilst the role offers a high degree of autonomy, the desired candidate will work collaboratively with the Managing Director to ensure business improvement decisions are made in the best interests of the company in line with their strategic objectives.
Essential Shortlisting Criteria
Part Qualified Accountant OR Qualified By Experience (5+ years Senior Bookkeeping to Trial Balance and Management Accounts)
A thorough working knowledge of management accounts
A proven track record in assisting with budgets, variances and cost analysis
A proven track record in delivering business improvement
A minimum of 5 years in Accounts, 2 of which working with Management Accounts
A proven track record in taking accounts to Trial Balance
Full Accountancy Qualification
Experience working in manufacturing, engineering or construction.
