The key purpose of the Commercial Analyst is to ensure the effective management of budgets within the division, and effective management of projects, revenue and capital budgets. The Commercial Analyst will create and establish new processes, controls, reporting and monitoring capabilities, working closely with wider finance, building relationships and delivering key commercial decision making information.
Key areas of responsibility will include the following:
Responsible for introducing appropriate financial processes, procedures and controls within ICT, resulting in the improvement of the departments financial management.
Budget planning, forecasting and financial reporting across ICT, project accounting, capital bids, resourcing and funding submissions, applying financial ratio, tools and methods where appropriate.
Establish and own project accounting element, supporting project managers to account on their financial management of CAPEX projects, challenging how and why budgets are spent.
Supporting Senior Management Team, and extended Leadership Team, Department Heads, and Resource Manager.
Clearly present and communicate financial matters, forecasting, profit and loss reporting, and variance analysis as appropriate for the target audience including presenting to Senior Stakeholders.
Partnering with Finance Teams and other divisions to ensure timely, accurate and robust processes are in place to enable management of budgets and related finances, building close, long lasting relationships.
Candidates will be expected to have significant budgeting, forecasting and analytical experience gained within a highly technical environment, with the ability to work with autonomy and minimal supervision.
Candidates will be considered from all qualification levels (PQ, QBE's considered), but must have demonstrable experience of a commercial and financially focused role.
People with experience of working within industries dealing with architecture, security, infrastructure, service delivery, and similar elements will be of high interest.
Communication skills are key to this role, both written and oral, along with a customer focused approach, a team worker with flexibility, and a problem solver who is able to work systematically with little or no supervision.
