Our client, a well established, successful and growing IFA business is seeing an experienced Paraplanner or IFA that no longer wishes to be client facing, to join them in a key role within the business.

Duties include-

  • The paraplanner is to undertake advice research for advisers and to prepare Suitability Reports, based upon information received from the Advisers (Meeting Notes, Factfind, Risk Profile etc)
  • The paraplanner is to supervise the administrative staff in the preparation of relevant material for submission to the client with letters of advice/general management of administration staff
  • The paraplanner is to follow company procedures for recording chargeable and non-chargeable time worked
  • 1st Client Database Management
  • The paraplanner is to oversee the delivery of accurate valuations to clients by Administrative Staff, according to 1st Diary prompts
  • Where appropriate the paraplanner is to draft a covering letter for valuations for adviser approval
  • The paraplanner is responsible for the continuing update of allocated information on the website according to procedures.
  • The paraplanner is to bill, in a timely manner, for all chargeable work
  • When advisers are absent the paraplanner is to monitor cover for essential duties being given by other advisers

It is intended that the paraplanner continues to improve their technical competence in their chosen markets, and that he or she will pursue the level of knowledge required to do this, through routes agreed with their Supervisor. These will include CII exams and in-house training.

Person Specification/skills/knowledge required for the role:-

  • Financial Software - 1st software desirable
  • IT systems - Outlook, MS Word essential, Excel, essential
  • IFA Office procedures and compliance - essential
  • Financial products - essential
  • Pension and Investment knowledge - essential
  • Letter writing - essential
  • Financial Product Research - essential
  • Excellent customer handling - essential
  • Very well organised
  • Work accurately
  • Able to multi-task and set own priorities to meet conflicting deadlines
  • Enthusiastic team member able to work well with all other team members at all levels
  • Level 4 Diploma and educated to degree standard
  • At least two years experience within the IFA sector
