The Client

An innovative legal firm based in Southampton offers a refreshingly different approach to legal matters. They work closely with clients on all legal aspects of their business from employment contracts to IP rights, whilst ensuring high quality advice and service on an on-going basis to help them excel.

They now require a bright and enthusiastic law graduate at Paralegal level to join the dynamic team. Ideally you will have already had permanent experience within a a UK law firm or long term placements in-house and are now ready for a new and exciting permanent role.

The Role

In this role, you will be building and managing your own portfolio of clients which range from SME's to large national chains where you will be their first point of contact. In order to do this, you will need to have a strong knowledge and a keen interest in the areas of corporate, commercial, intellectual property and employment law.

It will be your job to really understand the clients’ businesses and provide them with the right level of guidance and support as and when they need it. You will be working closely with their Partners to ensure clients receive the advice they need in a timely manner.

And when you’re not helping clients grow and protect their businesses, you’ll be working closely with the management team to help grow and develop the business and your role within it.

The Requirements:

A relevant Degree of 2:1 minimum

Great client management skills including excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written

Research and drafting skills and an understanding of contracts

Able to think creatively and use problem solving skills

The ability to build client relationships and manage accounts

A team player, driven, friendly and willing to go the extra mile and take the initiative

Enthusiastic, out-going, confident and mature approach

Excellent legal knowledge across a number of areas but with a strong interest and/ or experience in Commercial, Corporate Employment and Intellectual Property law

Familiar with Social Media and keen to use it as a marketing tool to drive business and get involved with business development through Networking, Events, Seminars and other methods

Good IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Experience of travel abroad and foreign language skills would be an advantage

Driving license is essential, mileage paid
