Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 (dependent on skills and experience)

Location: Whiteley

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm

The Role

The Paralegal will work closely with the in-house Group Solicitor to deliver practical and commercial legal advice and support to the business and group companies.

Acting as the first point of contact for legal enquiries, the Paralegal will support contract review and negotiation and provide company secretarial assistance.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provide general commercial support
  • Acting as the first point of contact for legal enquiries
  • Advising internally
  • Contract review and negotiation
  • Reviewing external contracts to identify risks
  • Amending/negotiating contracts
  • Contract drafting and management
  • Preparing sales contracts and NDAs
  • Managing the contract process through to signature and completion
  • Maintaining corporate records
  • Providing corporate support
  • Assisting with corporate transactions
  • Ensuring compliance by reviewing regulatory changes, advising on these and updating policies accordingly
  • Conduct effective case and transaction management

The successful candidate will possess the following key skills:

Essential:

  • Experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department in a commercial/contracts role
  • Excellent understanding of contract law
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - verbal and written
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the business
  • Strong analytical skills

  • Commercial and financial awareness
  • Strong systems skills including proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel

Desirable:

  • Experience of other areas such as litigation, employment, corporate
  • LPC or other relevant qualifications

This role is office based, and located at our office in Whiteley
