This is an exciting opportunity to work with a specialist paediatric service based within the Royal hospital for Children Glasgow. The role will assist and release both clinical and technical qualified staff to more efficiently discharge their duties.
Daily duties will include assisting clinicians in patient interventions (including preparation before and after), assisting qualified technicians with basic technical tasks and technical administrative tasks, maintaining HEI and Health & Safety standards of department, assisting in daily organisation and completion of tasks within department, clinical and technical stock control, assisting technical team in delivery of short term loan wheelchair service. You will undertake paediatric orthotic administration including first contact with patients and family verbally, electronically and face to face.
All training for specific orthotic clinical and technical knowledge will be given. The role requires an excellent ability to relate to patients, carers and the public within the department and Hospital. It also requires an ability to be organised, have good time management, be proactive and use Trakcare, Pecos, Outlook and Excel computing packages. Previous clinical assistant, administrative, health care environment working, technical assistant or orthotic experience is helpful. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday 8.30amto 4.30pm.
